Dr. Asha Bhatia is currently a faculty in the area of General Management at KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Research and Studies. She is a versatile and accomplished professional with over 20 years of acknowledged experience. She holds a PhD in Management Studies and has achievements as not only an academician but also as a policy strategist and mentor in the social structure. She has over16 publications in peer reviewed Journals alongside co-authoring a book chapter in “Universal Brotherhood Through Yoga.” She has received research grants and has successfully completed 4 funded projects. She was the Deputy Director (Dpt. Of Rehabilitation and Advocacy) for the National Association for Blind (I) and has been the Chairperson of Enactus Somaiya Social Cell at SIMSR..She set-up the first-ever Out Patient Department that is managed by visually challenged physiotherapists in Mumbai. She has given numerous presentations in conferences ranging in topics such as Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility. She is a certified CSR trainer and has over 15 awards in fields such as sustainability, leadership, management and social justice.

  • Chairperson of the organising committee toHer Excellency, the President of India, Smt. Pratibha Patil during her visit to NAB-Mumbai in May 2007
  • Interviewed as the voice of NAB on All India Radio to create awareness and build a better world for the visually impaired.
  • Organized aglobal level award winning awareness campaign “May I Help You”,2009 to create job opportunities for the visually challenged in the Hospitality industry.
  • Raised INR 20 Lakhs by implementing a Safety Awareness Campaign with the Mumbai Traffic Police
  • Invited by SAVH, Singapore to make a presentation on rehabilitation programs through higher education, skill development and training in India -2011.
